Borislav Stavrev, CFA assists our clients with financial consulting services as needed. The services Mr. Stavrev provides include investment analysis, financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, small business and start up valuation services, financial and business strategy consulting.
Mr. Stavrev also served as CEO/owner of Key Reef Financial, LLC an independent equity and credit research firm, where he prepared research reports on corporate bonds and private company valuations.
Between 2010 and 2018, Mr. Stavrev worked at Concise Capital Management, a high yield short duration corporate bond hedge fund, where he supported management in growing AUM from $30 million to over $300 million.
As a member of the investment committee, Mr. Stavrev was responsible for analyzing the credit risk of small issue high yield corporate bonds, investment idea generation and making buy/sell recommendations. In addition, Mr. Stavrev was responsible for managing and directing the research efforts of the junior analysts on the team.
Mr. Stavrev was also responsible for executing trades via OTC corporate bond markets. Mr. Stavrev successfully addressed clients and potential clients’ questions as part of the due diligence process regarding the investment strategy, operations and compliance.
During his more than 7 years at Concise, Mr. Stavrev led initiatives that transformed the company from a small boutique firm to an institutional quality investment manager. Such initiatives included the implementation of Global Investment Performance Standards® (GIPS®), the overhauling the firm’s compliance procedures, the launching of new investment vehicles, and the procurement of new service providers. As part of these efforts Mr. Stavrev has led the search and selection of a new fund administrator, prime broker, and a portfolio management software.
Mr. Stavrev started his career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ advisory practice, assisting clients in corporate strategy, restructuring, organization, and performance improvement. Mr. Stavrev has a B.A. in International Business from Eckerd College in 2007 and an MBA from the University of Miami in 2011 with concentrations in Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Stavrev is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter holder, earning his designation in 2015.
